The 8th Annual Junior Miss and Teen Miss U.S.P.A (United States Polka Association) Pageant info!

The pageant will take place on Saturday, May 28th in the Lounge at 3:30pm at the Holiday Inn Cleveland South 6001 Rockside Rd., Independence, OH 44136 Junior Miss U.S.P.A.

To participate:

Junior Miss pageant you must be 10-13 years old.
Teen Miss U.S.P.A. pageant you must be 14-17 years old.

Application

Junior applicants must submit a self written, non-typed application and a color photo of themselves. (The photo’s may be used by the U.S.P.A for advertising and public relations purposes.)

Teen applicants must also submit a self written, non-typed application form including a 100 word essay on “What Polka Music Means to Me.” and a color photo of themselves. (The photo’s may be used by the U.S.P.A for advertising and public relations purposes.)

The application deadline for the Junior Miss USPA and Teen Miss USPA is May 1 (if May 1st falls on a Sunday the deadline will be May 2nd). All applications must be postmarked by the May 1st date to be eligible. Applications are accepted year round.

Judging

Junior Miss U.S.P.A. – Each contestant will be judged on her answer to an on stage question, appearance, poise and enjoyment in dance.

Teen Miss U.S.P.A. – Each contestant will be judged on her answer to an on stage question, the self written, non-typed essay submitted with her application, appearance, poise and enjoyment in dance.

Please note: The applicants are NOT being judged on their dance skills. They are being judged on their expressions, attitude, poise and response to polka music.

Duties

We ask that the winner in each category wear her crown and sash to any polka event she attends and to represent the U.S.P.A. in a positive manner throughout her reign. The winner in each category is also expected to return the following year to crown the new pageant winner.

Semi-Formal attire is suggested. All contestants will receive a gift, runners up will receive a princess crown and sash. The parent or guardian of the contestant must be a member of the U.S.P.A.
