Polkamotion Returns in 2018!

Polkamotion by the Ocean, the fantastic four-day polka festival held at the beautiful ocean-front town of Rehoboth Beach, DE, returns to the newly-renovated Convention Center from September 12 – 15, 2018!

Marking its 13th year in Rehoboth Beach and 38th year overall, the festival features some of the nation’s top polka bands.   The lineup includes host band, The Boys (MD), featuring Polka Hall of Famers Frankie Liszka and Mike Matousek, the Polka Country Musicians (CT), featuring Polka Hall of Famer Wally Dombrowski, The Knewz (NY), featuring multiple USPA Favorite Male Vocalist award-winner, Andy Bojczuk, Polka Hall of Famer Jimmy Weber and The Sounds (NJ) making their only reunion appearance of the year, The Beat (NJ), featuring the signature songs of Mike Costa, the Eddie Forman Orchestra (MA), featuring Polka Hall of Famer Eddie Forman celebrating his 50th anniversary in the polka business, The Nu-Tones (PA), featuring nine-time USPA Favorite Female Vocalist award-winner Stacey Morris, Old School (OH), featuring top polka musicians and their incomparable honky-style sound, and Crab Town Sound (MD), featuring guest Polka Hall of Famers Fred Bulinski and Freddy K, and other polka stars.

Throughout the festival in the hall, authentic homemade Polish food (pierogi, golabki, kielbasa, etc.) will be available for sale, along with reasonably-priced beverages served at the full bar. Other activities include the annual Polkamotion Open, a fun-filled “best ball” golf tournament for players of all skill levels (newbies are welcome) that takes place on Wednesday at a nearby course. More details will be available soon. That night, the music kicks off in the hall with the $5 Polkamotion Welcome Party from 7 pm – 11 pm. For the first time, live polka music will be featured at the Band Stand at the end of Rehoboth Avenue (near the boardwalk and beach) on Friday from 11 am – 2 pm.   Stop by to enjoy the sounds of many of the polka stars who will be featured in the hall. On Thursday night, the doors open in the hall at 5 pm with music and dancing from 6 pm until midnight. Admission is only $16. Doors open at 4 pm on Friday and Saturday, with music from 5 pm – 12:30 am each night. Admission is only $18. As always, kids under 16 are free!
